All St Lucia excursions with Israel King are private, so the itinerary is tailor made to each group’s interests. The pick up can be arranged from the cruise ship terminal in Castries, Rodney Bay Marina or hotels / villas with a dock. We can assist with arranging a land taxi to pick you up to bring you to the Rodney Bay Marina if required. Typically our highly rated St Lucia excursions to Soufriere include a leisurely cruise down the west coast of St. Lucia, an area of outstanding natural beauty, to Soufriere and the majestic twin Piton mountains (an UNESCO World Heritage Site).
The experienced and friendly captain and guide will point out interesting sites along the way including the picturesque Marigot Bay, the charming fishing villages of Anse La Raye and Canaries, the Tunnel of Love, bat cave and various beaches and coves. Once in Soufriere, many guests choose to snorkel or swim in the marine reserve and spend some beach time at Sugar Beach and Anse Chastanet.
A third good snorkel site is also available at Anse Cochon, which can be included in the tour. As the tour is private, the time at one or all three of these snorkel sites is flexible, depending on guest interests. Snorkel gear is provided. Some photos of our guests on tour can be found here on our gallery page.
Some guests like to take an optional shore excursion once in Soufriere to visit the Drive-In Volcano / Sulphur Springs (mud baths) and Piton waterfall. There are other popular options for the land tour including the Botanical Gardens, Tet Paul hiking trail, Jerusalem and Toraille waterfalls. For the more adventurous there is always the option to hike up Gros Piton. Please let us know and we can arrange an itinerary for you.
The taxi is arranged to pick up guests from the dock in Soufriere and our guide accompanies the guests. To visit the Sulphur Springs and Piton Waterfall, the taxi charges $40 USD for 1-4 persons and $10 USD for additional persons. This is payable directly to the taxi driver. Additionally, there are some small local entrance fees (Sulphur Springs / mud baths $10 USD per person and the Piton Waterfall $3 USD per person).
A well-stocked cooler with beer, rum punch, water and soft drinks is available to guests throughout the Soufriere tour. Lunch is not included and due to current government Covid protocols, we are not permitted to take guests to restaurants. However, some good local and inexpensive food can be delivered to the boat for guests to enjoy on board.
On the way back up the coast on our St Lucia excursions, a stop can be made in Marigot Bay, described as “The most beautiful bay in the Caribbean” before returning to the cruise ship terminal or Rodney Bay.
If you have children under 12 years in your party, please let us know as we can provide a reduced rate for them.
